Jason Lee Worton – Reggae Rock Singer and Songwriter
I love when I get the opportunity to work with musicians. It’s nice to connect with an artist of a different genre and talk about their passions and career journey. I met Jason when he was lead guitarist for recording artiste Protoje and about four years ago I took piano lessons with him, as I was determined to perform Adele’s “Make you feel my love” for my 25th birthday party. We did classes for a year and it was nice to pick up another hobby for a bit and express myself through a different medium.
I enjoyed this shoot with Jason as it was a chill vibe and once he pulled out the ukulele, we ended up singing the song rendition to “Somewhere over the Rainbow” from the movie “50 First dates”. I love that version so much! It’s the perfect lullaby.
I’m happy that Jason chose me to document the beginning of his journey as a solo artist. He is currently recording a debut album outlining his sound, where he fuses influences ranging from classic reggae, dub, psychedelic blues rock and punk, with some occasional acoustic folk sounds meant to carry your soul straight to the hills and the beach.
